Step into the living room below and you will easily notice how rich dark coffee brown wooden surfaces have been added to offer a visual contrast to the white walls. Unlike in case of most other contemporary houses the Wallace Ridge also incorporates furnishings in darker tones instead of going with the pale white and grey options.
Creating a modern residence that offers gorgeous views and maintains the delicate balance of the surrounding natural setting is indeed a hard task. Architect Quico Jorreto has successfully managed to accomplish this by conjuring up and bringing to life this amazing house overlooking Miño River in Galicia Spain. Surrounded by a beautiful green landscape the home utilizes the available landscape to perfection as it offers those inside with unabated views of the river terrain while providing a comfortable retreat.
The Blue Crest model (shown below) consists of two modules resulting in a 4-bedroom 2 1/2-bath residence that includes a screened porch a garage and a deck:
The interior of this hotel unit features wooden paneling and mini blinds as well as tile flooring and countertops. The curved walls give the space a cozy feel don’t you think?
As noted on the Brooks + Scarpa website this home seamlessly blends with the hillside merging the natural and the artificial in the most intriguing of ways. Luis Vasquez is the project’s engineer and he worked his magic with the architects to create a property that has won the AIA Los Angeles NextLA Award as well as the honor of being exhibited at the National Building Museum’s “Liquid Stone Exhibit” in Washington D.C.
Ready for a showpiece that will knock your socks off?! Introducing the Vail Grant House a home designed by Brooks + Scarpa Architects and built from prefabricated structural concrete insulating panels. As noted on The Daily Green these panels (SCIPS) are constructed from 60% recycled material such as wire mesh made from recycled auto parts.
Wood is the prime material for everything in the house. It looks old (salvaged) but extremely chic at the same time. In the large living room everything is cozy relaxed and sprinkled with some French touches. In the kitchen although small everything is well organized and has its place. Plenty of natural light fills the dining area adding character to the whole setup.
