When it comes to unique homes we’re on a roll… This month at Decoist we’ve delighted in featuring a range of one-of-a-kind dwellings from to. Today we take a peek into the world of houses on wheels. What makes them so alluring? Their mobility? Their compact size? Their modern design? You decide!
Below we see the finished product which features a smart load panel that uploads real-time data about the home’s energy consumption. Silo House consists of three cylinders–one for the bedroom one for the kitchen and one for the living room:
Below we see an architectural detail that is one of many modern flourishes that give Paradigm homes their appeal. Another reason to love Paradigm: each dwelling is designed to maximize spaciousness!
The interior of the home boasts curved walls and minimal furniture. When the architecture is this interesting why detract from it with a cluttered living space? This next room gets it just right…
This cool contemporary home Down Under in Melbourne has been designed to blend in cool natural tones with sophisticated modern design to perfection. Conceptualized and brought to life by designer the residence achieves this by using beautiful shades of wood along with the right blend of stone and glass. The exterior of the house is adorned by vertical wooden tiles that give it a distinct appeal. Step inside and you will see chic and sophisticated interiors that are largely clad in neutral colors.
It’s amazing how many separate areas can fit into one compact space. Below we see the sleeping loft the kitchen the dining “room” and the living area complete with a sofa bed. Hint: you can maximize your space by placing sleeping zones in out-of-the-way spots. Or using dual-purpose furniture such as a sofa that is also a bed!
Step into the living room below and you will easily notice how rich dark coffee brown wooden surfaces have been added to offer a visual contrast to the white walls. Unlike in case of most other contemporary houses the Wallace Ridge also incorporates furnishings in darker tones instead of going with the pale white and grey options.
